Michelle Tillman is a Montreat College graduate, receiving her Master's with honors, in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ms. Tillman is a licensed clinician that practices active listening skills, is empathetic, and follows through with patience and care for her clients. With a gentle demeanor, she helps clients connect with the changes necessary for improving behavior and cognition.

When working with clients she emphasizes finding meaning in one’s life and helping people see their responsibilities in relationships and with themselves. She helps people develop the capacity to express themselves in their own unique ways.

Based on a direct yet sensitive approach, Michelle views counseling methods as opportunities to facilitate and coordinate exploration, clarification, and identification of her clients’ needs.

Ms. Tillman sees herself as an active conduit in the mental health profession, working with clients toward emotional wellness progress and understanding their thought and behavioral patterns.

She uses a wide range of methodologies, including Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to assist, nurture, and heal others by sharing the tools and techniques of clinical knowledge, community resources, and education.
